"It is difficult to find happiness within oneself, but it is impossible to find it anywhere else."
- Arthur Schopenhauer
Human life is a journey of opposites. Gain & Loss, Pleasure & Pain, Joy & Sorrow, Celebration & Tragedy.
Happiness is not eradicating the unfavorable half of the human equation, nor achieving fleeting states of sensual joy, emotional excitement, or intellectual stimulation.
Happiness is self-sufficiency. It permits us to accept our inner and outer lives as they are, as we work enthusiastically to improve them.
Vedanta philosophy provides the theory and practice for self-sufficiency. We learn to assess, analyze, and govern our experiences, cultivating healthy mental states that serve our authentic self, each other, and the environment.
