HEALING IN THE GARDEN
ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON THE CULTIVATION OF A HEALTHY LIFE
Just as we cultivate a garden, the human personality must be carefully cultivated to achieve lasting peace and productivity. Vedanta philosophy provides self-sufficiency through the development of the intellect. With the intellect, we are able to assess, analyze, and govern our experiences. We thus cultivate healthy mental states that serve our bodies, minds, communities, and the earth.
During this one day workshop at Kiss the Ground’s Venice Art Plaza, we will provide a full schedule to nurture ourselves and the earth. We will start the day with yoga, followed by a philosophical lecture on Indian Philosophy. This will be followed by work in the garden and a vegan lunch. After lunch we will be discussing a poem by William Wordsworth called “The Daffodils.” This will be followed by two interactive discussion and question and answer sessions.
The instructors for this workshop, Glen and Nathalie Callahan, studied Vedanta Philosophy full time at The Vedanta Academy in India for a combined total of eleven years. They run Vedanta Institute Los Angeles, a registered non-profit which promotes intellectual development through classes, workshops, seminars, and retreats throughout Los Angeles and San Diego.
